Display::Runner(tm)
--------------------
pcx images sequencer
for
store/show advertising/sales messages
(for DOS- or Windows-based systems)
v1.0
Display::Runner(tm) should be installed on a hard drive. For tolerable
viewing results, do not run the program on a floppy drive.
To install, type:
A:INSTALL <enter> or B:INSTALL <enter>
There must be about 350k of free space available on the target hard drive
or the install process will be incomplete, with indication of an error
and an exit to DOS. The source drive (containing install.exe) must be
different from the target drive. After installation, the program uses
about 300k of space. The install process will create a directory on the
destination drive, the default selection being \DRUNNER. The install
process does NOT modify your path, autoexec.bat, or config.sys.
The primary files included on the installation disk of this package are:
README.TXT (this file)
INSTALL.EXE
DRUNNER.EXE
_SAMPLES.EXE (self-extracting file)
DRUNNER.TXT

│ The following paragraph relates *ONLY* to bulletin board downloads: │
│ │
│ If this program has been downloaded from a BBS, the files may be moved │
│ to a diskette from which INSTALL.EXE is to be used, as indicated above. │
│ You may also run INSTALL.EXE from your downloads directory *IF* you are │
│ installing to a *DIFFERENT* logical drive from the one in which │
│ INSTALL.EXE exists. │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
For an alternative installation, copy all essential files to a directory
on your hard drive and then execute the self-extracting file _SAMPLES.EXE
in that directory. _SAMPLES.EXE may then be deleted from the directory.
Use of INSTALL.EXE provides verification along with installation and
provides opportunity to print the documentation (about 10 pages).
After a new installation, the following files must be present in the
\DRUNNER directory for a complete installation:
DRUNNER.EXE
DISP1.PCX
DISP2.PCX
DISP3.PCX
DISP4.PCX
DISP5.PCX
DISP6.PCX
DISP7.PCX
DISP8.PCX
DISP9.PCX
DISP10.PCX
DISP11.PCX
DISP12.PCX
DISP13.PCX
DISP14.PCX

The sample image files
-----------------------
In addition to the Display::Runner program itself, this package also includes
a sequence of sample pcx files intended for demonstration purposes to show
the method and possibilities of program usage.
To view the sample files sequence, ascertain the pcx image files are
available in the current directory and run the Display::Runner program as
follows -
At the DOS prompt, type:
DRUNNER <enter>
In Windows(tm), the user need only double-click on the filename DRUNNER.EXE
in a File Manager window. To end the program display, press a key.
Please peruse the documentation before attempting to evaluate this program
with your own pcx images.
